You want to be a Champion right? But are you doing the right things?

Before you assume that this article is meant to berate your efforts, consider this. You want to be a champion and you’re here because you want to know how to be one.

This is not a hostile environment. It’s all love!

So let’s move on.

Who’s your favorite female cyclist? Is it Marriane Vos? Jeannie Longo? Beryl Burton? Someone else?

Regardless of your pick, here are three things that they all have done to become the world champions they are today.

1.They have a winning attitude

This might sound like advice straight out of a kid’s show, but it’s not.

Studies show that high achievers in any sport are always determined to win. They have “…single minded focus, ambition, and an unwavering belief in their ability to succeed.”

Let’s zone in on that last bit.

An unwavering belief in their ability to succeed.

This means that regardless of what happens, even in the face of defeat, they believe that they can win.

They probably have a winning attitude even after they lose!

While every other competitor is thinking about how bad they lost, they’re thinking about how they’ll win the next race.

Is this your attitude?

2. They train hard

This goes without saying. Training is needed for victory. You won’t be a champion until you’re willing to work harder than everybody else.

Marianne Vos, considered by many to be the greatest female cyclist in the modern era, once said “You are going to suffer anyway so you might as well suffer well”.

In short, there is no success without hard work, so you might as well enjoy it.

3. They dress like champions

Have you seen what your favorite cyclists wear? Do you like it?

Champion cyclists and their teams prioritize looking good — and it’s not just for the visual appeal.

Studies show that dressing well increases your ability to perform. It also affects the way people perceive you.

So when you dress the part, you’re giving yourself a boost towards victory. Additionally, you might be intimidating your opponents, too.

Doesn’t that sound like a win?

Another thing to note when it comes to dressing is your supplier. Be wary about who you buy your cycling apparel from.

The best suppliers offer a wide range of customizable apparel. So that’s a good place to start.

To be a champion, you must be willing to do the things that no one else likes to do. Starting with the three above is a great idea!
